Valentines

Man have we been busy! Here is a recap of our last few days...

Last Friday Jonah and I went to a Valentines themed get together with my moms group. We ate pizza and did a little painting. The kids made painted hand prints on placemats as a craft project and keepsake for the holiday. With 7 kids under the age of 2 it was a little hectic and messy, but fun. Afterwards, the moms took a little artistic license and prettied the mats up a bit. Craftiness for all!

On Sunday the 14th, Jonah turned 8 months old. As of a few weeks ago at an earache appointment he was 20 pounds 6 ounces. I am sure he is a bit heavier than that now but we won't have any official numbers until his 9 month appointment. I tried to dress him fairly festively for his first Valentines Day. One of the pictures is for size comparison with green monkey, one is a good shot of his two top teeth and one is just cute!

That afternoon we headed off to Wisconsin. Nana and Aunt Louise were bringing Great Grandma Bartlett back home from her extended visit in California. The drive to Beloit and the drive back were not very fun to say the least. A lot of screaming from Jonah and a bit of flared temper from me. The time in between the car rides was very nice though! We got to see Great Gran again and give her a little face time with Jonah. We also got to spend some social time with Louise and Nana after dinner that I have come to really look forward to on our trips to Wisconsin. Before bed Jonah opened a present from Daddy for his first Valentines. He got the book "Yummy Yucky". It is really funny, and a very "boy" book. A good gift from dad to son.

After leaving Beloit on Monday we made a little detour to an IKEA nearby. Since the closest IKEA is 3 hours from us we try to make it to the one that is closest to Great Gran's house when we go. It took a lot of effort and frustration for us to go this time, but such is life. At least I got to expose my son to one of my favorite places!

Love the art project idea. We might need to steal that. Jonah is getting so big and even has a bit more hair. Can't wait to see him in a few short weeks.

Sorry we missed Gramps Room. It's usually the best part about the Ritzy Carlton!

Oh yeah! The Ritzy Carlton changed it's "official" name, not that we ever called it by that anyway!

Love doing crafts with babies, it's such a great experience. Can't believe how big he is getting. He's going from infant to baby face...ahhh! Give him some lovies from us :)
