"good job"

Apparently we tell Jonah "good job" a lot because he has started to say it back to us. Personally, I think it is awesome getting positive reinforcement from a 2 (almost 3) year old.
"There's thunder back there..."

Jonah and I were playing in the rain a while ago and, as usual, he was making me laugh. My favorite part happens around 1 and a half minutes into the video. Enjoy.
Easter Egg Hunt
Thursday, April 5, 2012 by Vanessa Smith
Last weekend the lovely town of Blowing Rock hosted an Easter Egg hunt for the local kids. There were games and prizes at the rec center to start, which we did not do (can you say mayhem!), with the hunt to follow. There was a really good turn out for such a small town. They broke all the kids up into appropriate age groupings for hunt, which was nice. Jonah's age group was to "find" their eggs on the fenced in tennis courts. Not a really challenging hunt, but the kids loved it none the less!
Here are Jonah and some of his friends (Oliver the redhead, and Simon the in the plaid. We don't know the girl but she's pretty cute!) patiently waiting for the whistle.
And...they're off!!!
There was a big score where all the eggs blew into the nets.
Jonah saw a pink one far away and made it his goal. Fearlessly he went for it, leaving us behind. He got it though!
Here is his bounty.
Counting the eggs to see if he's won the grand prize for greatest number. He did not. (All of the eggs were empty, and each child got a treat bag when they turned the eggs back in. I thought that was a really good method.)
Now, time to enjoy the spoils. Look at that excitement!! (Blowing Rock is a little more affluent community so they only have name brand, good candy at these sort of things.)
After the festivities Jonah and his friends headed to the playground for some climbing, sliding, and digging. Candy AND dirt?! Great day.
