The great outdoors (sort of)

Sunday, September 26, 2010

Jonah recently discovered the joy of our deck.  He's always liked being outside, but it wasn't until he could walk around that he had a desire to go onto the deck.  He now spends a fair amount of time out there everyday.

Here he is inspecting the bird feeder.  Addyson is jealous because she's not allowed on the deck.

I put Jonah to work.

He has inspected every nook and cranny.

And here he is being silly.  (I might have encouraged him to put his face on the screen door for this photo.)

Who needs toys...

Who needs toys when you have an empty Coke box lying around.

Playing in the bath

Monday, September 13, 2010

Jonah loves his bath time.  He likes splashing around, when we pour water on his head, and playing with his both toys.  Some of his toys can squirt water and he has now learned how to fill them up and make them squirt.  For some reason, he actually likes to have the water splash on himself, rather than into the bath.  It is a little hard to see in the video, but he's squeezing his toy so it sprays him in the face. When the water is out, he fills it up and repeats.  He's such a funny little kid!

She's crafty

She did it!  This past weekend, Vanessa participated in her first craft fair.  The craft fair was in Washington, IA, a quaint little town about 45 minutes south of us.

The crafters set up their tables in the town square--aka "Central Park."  Despite the town's small size, the craft fair was actually fairly large.

Vanessa left early in the morning to get everything set up, so Jonah and I made the trip down a bit later.  Here's Vanessa's table with her products laid out for all to see.

Vanessa chatted it up with the many people who stopped by. (Side note: notice Jonah playing in the background.)

Jonah and I stayed as long as we could, but our little man could only put off his nap for so long.  Fortunately, he was able to sleep during the drive home.

All in all, I am very proud of Vanessa.  She put A LOT of work into preparing for the craft fair (you can see some of her stuff here: happyeverythingonline.com).  Vanessa went out on a limb, tried something new, and did virtually everything by herself!  To top it off, she's already making plans to participate in another craft fair in November.  Great job, babe!
